‘Him & I’ Sets A Romantic Tone To G-Eazy’s Upcoming LP ‘The Beautiful & Damned’

Written by Brianna Delgado

With G-Eazy’s new album set to drop on December 15th what better way to get fans hyped than a peek into Gerald and Ashley’s relationship?

The song follows the typical indie cult styles of both artists. Him & I is a catchy electro-pop love ballad featuring G’s signature monotone rap style. While G-Eazy is normally the strongest lyrical presence in his own videos, Halsey’s vocals take the lead in their debut collaboration. The song on its own gives a likeable relaxed vibe.

Obviously inspired by romance but with emphasis on music for the individual rather than music for a cause as it hits charts the mainstream. Both artists have always been inspired by their troubled pasts and Him & I is an effort to showcase to fans a “Bonnie and Clyde” love for people to relate.

The video takes you through a romance filled night out in New York. Halsey and G-Eazy wanted to give their fans something real with this track and filmed the video organically on a night out in the city to really express what they’re about as a couple through their music.

Halsey spoke out on the track to 97.1 AMP Radio before release saying “it’s not a contrived thing… it’s not two artists pretending to be something they’re not for the sake of a story we really made this record about our real lives.

Currently the song has stayed in top 30 trending on YouTube since release and is climbing the UK charts. We’ll see if there are more Halsey appearances to come on The Beautiful & Damned.
