Brand New frontman, Jessy Lacy, responds to sexual abuse allegations.

The frontman of influential alt-rock group Brand New, Jesse Lacy, has recently issued a strong and confessional apology, after allegations of sexual assault.

The past month has seen a string of influential people in the upper echelons of society be torn down with sexual abuse scandals. Although this trend has mainly been in the realm of Hollywood, with these recent allegations facing Jesse Lacy, it is clear this problem is not only endemic to actors and movie producers.

In the long statement issued via Facebook Jesse opens up to his years of debauchery, cheating and sex addiction and furthermore apologizing ‘for the hurt I have caused, and hope to be able to take the correct actions to earn forgiveness and trust’.

While the apology may not redeem the things he did, including reported sexual assault of minors, or undo the pain he caused, the fall from grace from these notable icons can only do good for increasing awareness into this otherwise untouched problem.

Regarding the cancelation of several tour dates, the band’s Facebook page posted:
