Ruff Skwad’s Fudz Returns Alongside Splurgeboy Rocket On Anthemic ‘Johnny’

Written by Rahoul Naik

One of Grime’s veterans Fudz (A.K.A Fuda Guy) has returned on a solo spin alongside Splurgeboy Rocket for hard hitting new single Johnny.

The new single feels like the first arrow in the MCs very large quiver as he heads straight to work with a quick-time flow on the menacing beat from Detonator. Rumbling over the horror-movie like soundtrack with his gravelly tones, Johnny is a strong reminder as to why Fudz has barred with the best of them.

Having released solo material with NewState (EMI) and featured on two of Tinchy Stryder’s albums, as well as a catalogue of RuffSqwad material, Fudz has also celebrated success as a songwriter, being part of the writing collective NewCrowd working with artists such as Pia Mia, Krishane Omi, N-dubz and Connor Maynard.

His talent as an artist has seen him support Kano, Jack Penate and N-Dubz, and he has performed on some of the worlds biggest festival stages including The Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury for two consecutive years with fellow RuffSqwad member Tinchy Stryder as well as Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Wireless, V Festival and Bestival.

As part of grime’s fabric, he has also performed at major events in the grime calendar including 2016’s Red Bull Culture Clash at the 02 Arena as part of the Eskimo Dance Team, and also performed for Boiler Room alongside Skepta.

Fresh off its premiere with Mistajam on BBC Radio 1Xtra and with an impressive video already in the pipeline, catch Johnny first, before Johnny catches you!
