Pixie Lott Returns With ‘Won’t Forget You’ After 3 Year Hiatus

Written by Jerelyn Adjei-Frimpong

After a long 3-year hiatus since her last album was released, the singer has returned to the music scene with a brand new track featuring Jamaican-born reggae artist Stylo G.

Since the success of her last single, 2014’s Lay Me Down, Lott has been keeping a low profile, only featuring on a couple singles such as Baby with Anton Powers, and starring in the West End production of ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ as the leading role, Holly Golightly.

The Mama Do hit maker first teased the track to her 550k+ Instagram followers on the 22nd September stating that there would be “new music coming soon”. She further followed up the promotion with an exclusive look at the lyrics further expressing her excitement for the release of the sure-to-be hit.

The lyrics of the new single are very reminiscent of her old hits like All About Tonight and Boys And Girls, however the feel of the single is very current and radio friendly. It represents a much needed change for the singer, probably due to the fact that is she no longer signed with Island Records; but with All Around the World Ltd.

3 Beat Productions, the producers for this track, who have worked with many prolific dance artists such as Basshunter and Fuse ODG, demonstrate Lotts’ potential within this genre since the 2-and-half minute track is infused with all the right ingredients to make Won’t Forget You an EDM radio hit. However, due to the summer vibe of this single, perhaps it would do better on the charts if it was released in July/August. Soon time will tell.

Moreover, the release of Won’t Forget You may be setting the mood for the fourth album. It’s yet to be known whether the new single is a standalone or actually the lead release for the untiled record.

In the meantime, listen to the track below:
