If you started playing Tiggs Da Author’s brand new single Work It Out, it seems all too familiar and you can’t put your finger on it, here’s the solution: The South London native used an interpolation of Caesar’s Jerk It Out to create his own catchy track mixing the classic hit with some of London’s typical rap scene.
Curiously, Work It Out was never designed to be a single but after covering the Swedish band’s Jerk It Out fans seemed to love it. Soon enough, Tiggs and Caesar’s Jocke Ahlung got together to create the genre-bending single and created a song that still seems authentic to Tiggs but combines the best of Sweden and England via Tanzania. If you like jazz, rap and dare I say hints of reggae this song will be honey to your soul.
The Tanzanian born multi-talent who prides himself in being a rapper, singer, songwriter and producer, dropped the song as a sneak peek of his debut album to be released via Sony Music Entertainment UK. Having released the song just less than a week ago, it’s already been featured on BBC Radio 1Xtra and gave a live performance on Later… With Jools Holland.
The 26-year-old has been racking up more and more recognition after bein featured on albums by Tinie Tempah, J Hus and Nines. Now he’s the one to feature none other than Coldplay’s front singer Chris Martin in his music video that shows Tiggs performing the song in a dark bar.
