Amber Run Strip Themselves Back For New ‘Alaska’ EP

Written by Natalie Fisher

Known for their distinctive acoustic and cinematic alternative style, Amber Run will return this week with their new digital EP Alaska.

The four track release features two acoustic versions of songs from their expansive sophomore album For A Moment, I Was Lost as well as two brand new covers.

Alaska, the title track, is the bands take on the track of the same name by Maggie Rogers. The band seamlessly transform Roger’s upbeat electro-pop track, stripping it back to acoustic simplicity. Indeed, also featured is the bands cover of Jackie Wilson’s Higher And Higher, which is adapted well to Amber Run’s signature style.

Speaking of the decision to unplug for this EP, Amber Run frontman Joe Keogh says “It was important that we got really great performances without hiding behind the veneer of production”.

The band are once again hitting the road and tickets are now available for their UK Autumn Tour here:
