Music videos have made an interesting comeback recently, ranging from artistry like Kendrick Lamar’s HUMBLE. to telling intricate stories. Of the latter category follows Zayn and Sia’s soon to be chart-topping hot track Dusk Till Dawn. The freshly dropped single serves as anticipation for the former One Direction singer’s sophomore album to be released via RCA Records.
If you’ve been binge-watching the new season like the rest of the world, Dusk Till Dawn’s music video will give you instant Narcos vibes. In the mini movie directed by Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man, 500 Days of Summer), Zayn follows partner-in-crime Girls star Jemima Kirke who is caring a suspicious black briefcase through the flooded streets of Chinatown. Just as the song picks up, the singer gets caught by the police only to get caught in a hot pursuit in a Jaguar. If anything, the video clearly emphasizes the bad boy image Zayn is trying to go for.
The track itself is co-written by Zayn and Sia along with Grammy producer Greg Kurstin. It features a stark contrast between sultry verses intertwining smooth vocals and an explosive chorus and somehow manages to display some incredible high vocals by Sia without sounding like they’re too much.
Watch the music video below and be sure to have the song stuck in your head for the next few days.
