18-Year-Old Tayá Drops Visuals For Yxng Bane Assisted ‘When Ur Sober’

Written by Rahoul Naik

Liverpool’s newest future R&B superstar, Tayá has announced her self-titled debut EP, due for release on the 1st September. She has also unveiled her new track, When Ur Sober featuring Yxng Bane, an ode to love and regret, showcasing Tayá’s stunning vocals, as well as her knack for heart0wrenching lyrics and alluring melodies

The track was created with the U.K. songwriting powerhouse Wayne Hector, rising songwriter Emma DD, Scandinavian super producer Arnthor Birgisson and long-time Tayá collaborator Diztortion.

Tayá had to say on the track: “When Ur Sober is probably the most personal song I’ve ever released. I think pretty much everyone can relate to going through a rocky patch in a relationship, and finding themselves needing reassurance, but not getting it. Sometimes it’s just good to hear that you’re not the only one

When Ur Sober is taken from Tayá’s debut EP, which acts as a benchmark for her career thus far, featuring fan favourites like Fingerprints (with Sango), Wondering (with Toddla T) and her earlier hit, Deeper.

Even at her tender age, Tayá has already gathered a bunch of support from the likes of Annie Mac, Mistajam, Trevor Nelson and DJ Target as well as a bunch of publications like Noisey.

Having been spotted playing live at an early age around Liverpool, the young singer has already been collaborating with some of the finest R&B producers in the UK and US including Snakehips, Diztortion, Al Shuz (Jay-Z), Fisticuffs (Miguel) and Sango.
