October’s Very Own artists Majid Jordan and PARTYNEXTDOOR have linked up for a bumpy and vibrant electro-R&B joint that is perfect for this boiling hot weather.
The track features some intricate production from Majid Jordan, yet nothing short of what we have already come to expect from the duo and the addition of PND’s vocals and songwriting, you can see an elevation in skill and grace on the track.
PND and Majid go back and forth over the beat talking about lusting for their ‘Day Ones’ even with all this money they now have. Lyrics like “Fifty bands later you are the one I want / Hundred bands later you are the one I want” almost shows an unconditional love that may be rare for those in the limelight. Majid comes back with “Used to bus to class / Now I’m on first class / Champagne in my glass / Look at what we did” with a much more natural boasting swagger that we are used to.
The track comes very quick off the back of PND’s surprise Colours 2 EP and Majid Jordan’s Phases, which is rumoured to be part of their next effort that they are working on.
The OVO camp has recently got even stronger with the addition of R&b singer, Plaza Shadow, and if PND and Majid Jordan are anything to go by; we can expect a bigger takeover of the music industry from Drake’s label real soon.
