DJ Khaled, perhaps one of the biggest producers in the game right now, has dropped the fourth single from his upcoming album, Grateful. The new single takes a different turn from his normal hip-hop bangers and he grabs Rihanna and Bryson Tiller for the sexy vocals.
One of the most prominent things you may notice on this track is Khaled’s refixing of Santana’s Maria Maria, which had one of the best guitar parts on Latin music ever; the man is a genius. A rework and almost ‘revival’ of that track is very much needed and we couldn’t be more glad that Khaled picked it up.
Rihanna most definitely fits the description of ‘Maria’ in the video, wearing a bunch of Latin inspired outfits where she is embodying the Wild Thoughts she is supposedly having. Bryson Tiller’s addition to the track, gives us a more hip-hop edge and allows for some back and forth between the two singers as Khaled dances around them in his flowery outfits.
After dropping For Free and To The Max with Drake, I’m The One with Bieber, Chance, Wayne and Quavo and now Wild Thoughts; it is fair to say that we are getting a much clearer image of the upcoming album and the kind of sounds Khaled is going for.
Other notable additions on the album are the likes of Mavado, Nas, Alicia Keys and Rick Ross as well as many of the New-Skool rappers like Kodak Black and 21 Savage.
Check out the video for Wild Thoughts below and we guarantee you will fall in love with RiRi.
