Following the virtual reality video she released for her single Notget earlier this year, Björk has released the official music video. It’s a similar style to the earlier release, with the singer donning an outfit very much like the visual of her avatar in the VR release.
It’s taken a while for the video to drop, considering the track Notget comes from her 2015 album Vulnicura. The new video was made in collaboration with Warren du Preez, and Nick Thornton Jones, who directed the piece.
I’m not going to go in-depth about describing the video, because it’s so incredibly visceral and all over the place it resists definition. Amazing costume design meets the destructive and creative power of CGI, allowing Björk to transform through shape and colour. Definitely a must watch. I’d recommend putting it through your earphones, turning off the lights in your room, and get all that Björky artpop goodness with no means of distraction.
You can watch the new video here. Please do, it’s stunning.
