Brainfeeder’s Iglooghost has been pretty quiet since releasing the EP Little Grids last year, but it’s all for a good cause, trust me.
In December of last year IGLOOGHOST shared a video from theneedledrop where Anthony Fantano revealed his top 15 EP’s of 2016, one of which was Little Grids. Along with this was a hefty paragraph explaining the silence from the music producer: “YO BTW MY DUDES… I KNOW I BEEN KINDA QUIET FOR MOST OF THE YEAR ASIDE FROM LITTLE GRIDS… BUT IT’S GONNA B WORTH IT IMO. BEEN CRAFTING SOMETHING VERY VERY LARGE AND VERY METICULOUS ALL YEAR & I’VE NEVER WORKED THIS HARD ON A THING EVER IN MY LIFE. SO NEARLY DONE.”
Since then we have had relatively nothing, which was mildly frustrating to say the least, until yesterday when IGLOOGHOST appeared on Facebook again: “HEY THE ALBUM IS 100% DONE & YALL WILL GET IT IN THE SUMMER. BUT FOR NOW HERE’S A LIL MIX CUS I FEEL LIKE I HAVEN’T DROPPED ANYTHING FOR A BILLION YEARS. I MADE IT MAINLY TO GO RUNNING TO, BUT THERE’S A LOT OF NEW IGLOO STUFF & FUN EDITS I’VE MADE SINCE FINISHING THE LP.”
Fortunately we know the full album is now finished, and will be released soon, but to tide us over until then GHOST has given use an absolute facemelter of a mix, featuring new, previously unreleased tracks from the mysterious musician. You can (and should – it’s a corker) listen to IGLOOGHOST’s new mix Chalk Shrine here:
