South London singer/songwriter extraordinaire, RAYE, has graced us with a new single, The Line, this week following on from her success with Jax Jones on You Don’t Know Me.
Many may only know RAYE has the feature with Jax Jones and in Stormzy’s Big For Your Boots video; however the young artist has been writing for a long time and found success on Charli XCX’s I, U, Us. too.
The new single is RAYE’s view on nightclub expectations, getting turned away by clipboard hugging bouncers and the view of females on a night out.
The track features a bouncy vibe, lots of singability and a chorus that will be shouted en masse on the streets of our biggest cities. The vibe can best be described by dancehall meets electro with hints of just about everything that makes a chart-topping single.
Expect to move to this one.
The video for the song was directed by Sing J Lee and does more for the song than a few hundred words could.
Check it out in all it’s glory below.
