Cashmere Cat Gets Experimental On MØ Assisted ‘9 (After Coachella)’

Written by Rahoul Naik

Norwegian DJ and Producer, Cashmere Cat has linked up with fellow Scandinavian artist MØ and Sophie to bring the rather industrial sounding 9 (After Coachella).

The new single follows Love Incredible featuring the talented Camila Cabello. Cashmere’s debut studio album is set to be dropping this year and many of the releases from last year including Wild Love featuring The Weeknd are set to very much be a part of the artist’s career defining project.

The new song is something much more left field than we have come to expect. Cashmere’s style is heavily influenced by R&B, futuristic Hip-Hop and tons and tons of Bass. The new track however has tow very interesting drops that are much more disorganised, disassembled yet still deliver something to bob your head to; it’s incredible.

Taking sounds that are perhaps found in more industrial electronic music and perhaps even dubstep, Cashmere has been able to evolve his sound without losing his core fans and still dropping some ‘classic’ sounding bass towards the end.

It will be interesting to see where Cashmere takes the rest of his album and if we’ll actually get any more singles before the drop.

In the meantime, listen to the track below.
