Pecknold and co. are back at it again, folks. Six painstaking years after the release of their last LP, Helplessness Blues, we have a new album announcement; it’s called Crack-Up and it’s out on June 16th via Nonesuch. In the time between Helplessness Blues and now, we’ve seen the band go on what seemed like an indefinite hiatus, with members striking out on their own with distinct yet familiarly beautiful folk rock projects, but the spine of the project has remained intact with Pecknold and guitarist Skyler Skjelset maintaining a creative relationship.
Each of the 11 songs from the tracklisting were written by Robin Pecknold, and their first single, Third of May/ Ōdaigahara is available now to listen via YouTube, with the song also available for download when the record is preordered via Nonesuch.
