Urban Cone Provide All The Old School Romance On New Release

Written by Eli Sulaiman

Urban Cone takes us back to old school romance with their latest single, Old School and it forecasts what we can expect with their upcoming third album release!

Underneath the funky indie pop are lyrics that uncover someone who wants to give an old school type of romance in a modern society of instant gratification and hasty hook-ups. The track also features soundbites of old voice recordings of a young woman saying “I love you” in the chorus, giving it an extra touch of nostalgia.

The band consists of five Swedish members Emil Gustaffson, Rasmus Flyckt, Magnus Folkö, Tim Formgren, and Jacob Sjöberg. They’re currently on tour in the US and will be playing in San Francisco, Hollywood and Brooklyn.

Urban Cone has made notable progress in their music career. They’ve collaborated with Tove Lo for Come Back To Me and Porter Robinson for his song Lionhearted. Their first hit success was back in 2011 with their single Urban Photograph which landed as #2 on Hype Machine and became recognized by music blogs worldwide.
