Sunday the 8th January marks the late David Bowie’s 70th birthday. In commemoration of this, Columbia records have released a new EP which holds the Thin Duke’s final known recordings called No Plan. It contains three tracks, No Plan, Killing a Little Time, and When I Met You. Lazarus from Bowie’s last album Blackstar is also included.
The material for No Plan is taken from the same sessions where Bowie produced his final album. These three tracks feature in his Bowie’s musical Lazarus, which is based on his 1976 film ‘The Man Who Fell to Earth’. The play premiered this time last year, but this is the first time the tracks have been made available as lone releases. The musical has received incredible reviews, the Rolling Stone called it “wild, fantastical, eye-popping. A surrealistic tour de force.”
