Tory Lanez really use 2016 to make a name for himself. From some top singles and a killer album, I Told You, to an ever lasting beef with Drake for Toronto’s crown.
Tracks like LUV and Say It became instant hits all over the world, gaining over 100 million streams each on Spotify. A LUV remix from Sean Paul himself really helped pushed Lanez into the mainstream towards the end of the year and it seems now there is no stopping the singer/rapper.
Following his newest single, Paid, which dropped on Christmas day; Lanez has now dropped two full length mixtapes, The New Toronto 2 and The Chixtape 4. Both mix tapes are sequels to their respective series, both which have helped Lanez get to where he is now.
The New Toronto 2 boasts a couple of big name features in the form of A$AP Ferg and Rick Ross, which shows Lanez’ ability to pull some big names on the right tracks. It is interesting to note that the majority of Lanez’ work has not featured many artists and so these two carefully picked ones may show the only people he hasn’t p****d off in the game right now.
Regardless, there is a wealth of Tory Lanez music to see us into the New Year and we aren’t really complaining at all.
