Wiley brought Grime back to the BBC 2 screen yesterday as he performed on Later…With Jools Holland.
The music show has an impressive record of hosting artists of all genres yet it was not until the likes of Kano and Bashy featured on the show did people outside of the genre take Grime seriously.
Wiley performed his first single, Can’t Go Wrong, from his upcoming album Godfather and smashed his performance along with his DJ and personal hype man Scratchy. The inclusion of Wiley on yesterday’s programme shows that Grime is being seen as a top genre to cover by the guys over at the BBC.
Wiley now joins the likes of Skepta and Stormzy who have recently featured on the show. DJ, MC and mic; we don’t get to see that often on TV but when it happens, it’s a great feeling.
Check out the performance below.
